Hello, my name is Kevin Andrada and I am the new High Pi for the Delta Lambda Zeta of Lambda Chi Alpha. I received the honor of being elected by the active members and began my term in January of 2010. I was an active member, Tau and Alpha of this same chapter; initiated during the Fall of 2000 and receiving alumni status after the Fall of 2004. In 2003, I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Nuclear Medicine and a Minor in Biological Sciences. Currently, I am seeking a Master of Health Care Administration an look forward to beginning the Master in Business Administration program this coming fall. I am an employee of Nevada Cancer Institute and now serve as the interim Diagnostic Imaging Manager.
Even after being away from the chapter for a little over 5 years, it did not take long to get back into the swing of things. After a few short weeks, I already felt the same passion and desire to contribute and advance the fraternity as I did when I was an undergrad. This chapter is made up of an outstanding group of young gentlemen. Their grades are within the top 3 of IFC fraternities. They continue to perform very well in intramural sports. Philanthropy is a high priority with this chapter. Just this semester, they have contributed to a number of other Greek organization's philanthropies and even started a couple of new annual chapter philanthropies. This semester's major philanthropy: Lambda Chi Alpha "Recess" looks to be a success and I am confident that it will continue to be in the coming years. With the addition of a new class of extremely qualified young men lead by a great education program, this chapter is poised to rise to the highest of ranks among the Greek community at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I see in them a strong desire to succeed, and a passion to "perform second to none."
I have taken into consideration the momentum of this chapter and their shared desire to rise to the top. With that in mind, I have created a rough draft of a program to be lead by the High Pi office and my committee. With this program, I plan to work with the undergrads and local alumni to pit together a comprehensive program containing leadership and goal oriented programming. Weekly, the chapter will benefit from this program and become even better, more efficient leaders. The ultimate goal is to become the best and most recognized fraternity at UNLV, and become internationally recognized and a stellar chapter within Lambda Chi Alpha. This program is to be called "The Delta Lambda Initiative," will be completed in the early Summer, and will be ready for full implementation during the upcoming Fall semester. With all of that being said, it is needless to say that I am pleased with the current state of the chapter and am very excited for the advancements in the coming semester.
